“I am the most myself when I climb; confident, joyful, tenacious, and free.”

— Indiana Chapman

About Me

My name is Indiana Chapman, and I am a professional climber from Toronto, Canada. My dad introduced me to climbing when I was 7 years old, and I’ve been completely entranced by the sport ever since. I am so proud to climb for Team Canada, and can’t wait to continue working towards my competition & outdoor goals.

I am a student at Queen’s University, completing an online Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. I am also currently training full time, working towards the 2028 Olympics and the following World Cup seasons.

In early 2024, I faced the most challenging injury of my career—a torn ACL along with damaging almost every other part of my knee. What followed was the hardest year of my life, but also the most transformative, filled with deep growth, resilience, and a renewed purpose.

Alongside my love for competition and deep interest in the mental side of high-level sport, my journey through a major injury has fuelled a passion for coaching. I love working with climbers of all ages and skill levels to help them reach their goals—whether that means building confidence on the wall, refining technique, reaching a goal grade, or navigating the mental challenges that come with injury, recovery and climbing in general.

Climbing has shaped the person I am today, and I am so grateful to God for giving me this passion and community to grow in. Through every training and competition season, there are highs and lows - and I am learning how to be equally grateful for every moment of it.

Thank you to this stellar climbing community that I’m apart of, my family and friends, and my amazing sponsors that continuously support me as I climb and grow in this sport.

Through every season, there are highs and lows - and I am learning how to be equally grateful for every moment of it.
